Happy Dolly Days pt.2: Eric Raymond arrives for Jem and the Holograms fans

This character was one of the most anticipated in the Jem and the Holograms line of Integrity Toys and now he is finally here to pre-order. He has the Count/Perry Marino sculpt, probably the ugliest face ever released from Integrity. He's definitely a pass from me but most Jem fans will surely add him to their collection. W Club got priority in ordering the doll, which is ready to ship by next week. Any dolls left after that, will be made available to the general public on Tuesday December 1st at noon ET. That link will be available through the company's Facebook page.

The new "most wanted" Barbie: the new Moschino Barbie

Jeremy Scott loves Barbie. He proved it by dedicating an entire Moschino collection to her, dressing women like the famous doll, accessories included. Back then, guests at the fashion show had received a limited edition of Barbie dressed in Moschino, that had collectors all over the world drooling in anticipation of an actual commercially released version. That time came today: the doll is available through Moschino, Net-A-Porter and, through Barbie Collector later on 6:00 am PT. 

There are two versions of the doll, a Caucasian and an African-American one, and she comes with two outfits: a leather "suit" and some sporty separates. Of course she has her Moschino shopping bag and assorted accessories. She's a limited edition of 700 according to Net-A-Porter (I guess each version will have 700 dolls released).

Jeremy Scott said: "I wanted to bring all of the Moschino elements to Barbie, as I had done the reverse by bringing all of the Barbie elements to Moschino for the spring/summer 15 collection. The thing I love most about Barbie, is that she is the ultimate muse, she's worn every style and design imaginable and at the same time she's had every possible profession you can dream of."

For me, the best thing about this release is that a boy is included in the commercial that accompanies the release - and nobody bats an eyelid. I know it should not be an issue in 2015 but there are still boy-girl distinctions in toys and it''s about time it stopped being so. So kudos to Moschino and Mattel for this.

Last time I checked, the AA version was sold out at Moschino but seems to be available on Net-A-Porter. Those who missed it go for Barbie Collector. Good luck.

The fourth W Club exclusive for 2015 is Award Night Jem!

Just as I mentioned in my previous post that the W Club offerings were being released late this year and lo and behold: the fourth one is released just a bit after the third! This time it is a Jem doll, to tie with the 30 years celebrations for Jem and The Holograms. Award Night Jem is a companion piece to "HOLYWOOD JEM", the doll that marked the return of the franchise. Featuring Jem as she appeared in the closing scenes of the fan favourite two-part episode "HOLLYWOOD JEM", as she was presented with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

IFDC 2015: JAMIEshow releases - Ayal Armon for JAMIEshow

It's not the first time that the talented Ayal Armon collaborates with JAMIEshow. He did a small collection for 16" ladies for the company a while ago, still available on their website. This time, for IFDC, he decided to cater for the big boys. The collection was so successful that it is now sold out except one outfit, the first on the list below. A dark pink form fitting t-shirt. Made of mesh spandex. Closes in the back with snaps.  Low ride low crotch loose pants. The pants are made of dark brown and off white light weight linen. The front has a symmetrical closure and two side pockets. The pants are fully lined and had wide belt loops. Finishing the outfit is a sharp looking hip length jacket. The jacket is made of off white gold metallic linen has two front welt pockets and is decorated with buttons.  The jacket is fully lined.

Closes in the back with snaps.  Form fitting pants, snuggly fit around the waist and hips has two pockets.  The pants are made of light weight black linen, fully lined, and are decorated with buttons on the belt loops. A sharp looking outfit, inspired by street fashion but taken to a sophisticated high fashion level.  Off white sleeveless shirt. A sharp looking shirt with collar, welt pocket and front buttons. The shirt is made of handkerchief linen and is lined with the same fabric.  Low ride baggy pants, with dropped crotch, a sophisticated take on low ride street wear.  The pants are made of black light linen and are fully lined, has two deep pleats in the front and back, square pockets opening and decorated with buttons in the front and back.  Finishing the look is a waist cropped jacket with low collar and straps along the front and around the cuffs.  The jacket is made of terra cotta metallic linen, has two welt pockets in the front and is fully lined.

IFDC 2015: JAMIEshow releases - Lori Lyon for JAMIEshow

Lori Lyon is the person behind Madeleine Rose Couture, making one of a kind outfits for fashion dolls. Her work has been featured in most fashion doll magazines and collectors from all over the world seek out her unique creations. She also has a blog where she writes about her creative process. She collaborated with JAMIEshow for an exclusive collection featuring five ensembles in a limited edition for 16" dolls. The designs look great, even though the patterned fabrics are not always to my taste, and the detailing looks fantastic. The chantilly lace sheath, the pink ensemble and the white gown look best.
