New East 59th collection: The Four Seasons!

A new East 59th Collection of four dolls was unveiled two days ago, designed of course by Chris Stoeckel. It is named The Four Seasons Collection and the concept is that each East 59th doll is doing a glamorous ad campaign for a top clothing company, having four looks representing the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The doll screenings are all new, which is good, as they were beginning to be repetitive. Two dolls from the collection will be available via Integrity Toys' authorised dealers, but the "Summertime Outing" Evelyn Weaverton and "The Winds Of Winter" Victoire Roux dolls are IT Direct dolls and were only be available via a right-to-buy lottery for W Club members.

Despite the new screening, this Constance reminds me a lot of the first one. After all, Chris says it is based on the first one for inspiration. I’m not in love with the print of the dress (and matching coat lining) but love the colour combination of blue and yellow. She has shopping bags as accessories, and an umbrella, which sadly is not functioning. Wonder how many more people would go for her if her umbrella could open.

 She’s the one I coveted from this collection. I like her look, both doll and outfit. But the real attraction is the picnic set in a wicker hamper, which is something we have not seen before at IT and looks amazing. The wicker matching purse is the cherry on top. The screening is a modified updated version of the first screening, with a more sultry look, per Chris. Gorgeous.

First time with a forward eye screening for Della, yet she still looks a lot like before to me. I’m not crazy about her blonde hair/blue eyes combo, she always looks so much better in darker colouring. Just imagine her in a dark brown bubble cut with brown eyes. Her outfit is very chic, with that lovely hat and bag, and her design portfolio suits it just fine. Pity her jewellery is very basic.

Victoire is dressed for winter and has a dog as well! The fabric print looks great but I think she would look even better if it was in shades of emerald green to contrast her red hair. Would have also preferred some fur trim on the collar, hat and gloves (and she could come without the dog and flowers to offset the cost). Lovely jewellery and bag. The new screening has different eyebrows and looks a bit more sultry. The Winds of Winter is so Game Of Thrones!

Poppy Parker At Home collection unveiled and sold out almost immediately!

The first proper doll collection of Integrity Toys for 2024 was none other than four new Poppy Parker dolls. This year is the 15th anniversary of the commercial juggernaut of IT (she made her debut back in 2009), so people are expecting lots of special PP releases! There was a live presentation for this collection, where the designer David Buttry and Carol Roth talked about Poppy’s history (did you know Chip’s full name is Frederick Charles Farnsworth the III? Or that he has a sister nicknamed Cookie? LOL) present to you four brand new Poppy Parker Collection dolls, all created by incredible The collection is named Poppy Parker At Home and the concept is that she returns to her roots for a visit home to reconnect with her friends and family. To further enhance the nostalgia about Poppy’s early days, each doll in this collection comes packaged in a faithful reproduction of the original Poppy Parker window box, complete with the ribbon ties on the sides. This Poppy has the Bergdorf eye combined with the Reluctant Debutante brow. The basic idea behind the collection is that all dolls remind people of that first year, without copying any of them. Her dress as a shape reminds me of Reluctant Debutante with the gingham pattern of Dorothy from Oz (and there is a light blue satin petticoat underneath the skirt). The embroidered bag is nice but overall the doll is not giving much.. I briefly entertained the thought of getting her as a substitute of Sweet in Switzerland Poppy but she pales in comparison.

This is the star of the collection - she was the first doll to sell out. She’s my second favourite of the bunch - see my first below. She has the Pillow Talk screening (Summer Magic) and hairstyle, just in different colours. Love the colour combinations here, although the sweater misses out on photos - I bet it looks much better in real life. She sports a full length turtleneck under the sweater. Her overall vibe does remind me of Sweet in Switzerland so I really want to get this one. Plus she has the best accessories of all in this collection.

This is my favourite doll from this collection. She has a Co-ed Cutie vibe but as if she’s graduated and has her own home now. She has the Summer Magic screening and looks gorgeous with the colour blocking of the dress (that’s a one piece dress, no separate obi). People mention Sparkling Sunset as a similar one but that dress had an empire waistline and a different belt style. Look closer people! She’s also the only one with high heeled feet, which matches her look. She’s a keeper.

this is the lottery doll and is the only one I am not crazy about. Yes, she is a beautiful doll but neither the pajamas or Mr. Teddybear or her pink lipstick do it for me. She has the Bergdorf eye with the Reluctant Debutante eyebrow. I do not even like the colours of her plaid outfit - if it was in a green/blue combination, it might have swayed me a bit. Pass.

Dolly Days - Day Two: The Weekend In The Poconos is the new East 59th collection!

Dolly-Days Day 2 was, much like in previous years, the day of the unveiling of the new East 59th Collection, designed by the amazing Chris Stoeckel. The collection is called The Weekend In The Poconos. Poconos was a famous resort destination in the 1950s and the concept is that some of the East 59th characters spend a weekend relaxing there. So it’s a collection of mix-and-match sportswear and matching luggage.

Three of the four dolls will be available via Integrity Toys' authorized dealers, while Laird Drake is an IT Direct item and will only be available via a right-to-buy lottery.

A redhead version of Cora - this makes her now available in three basic hair colours: blonde, black and redhead - next one should be a brunette. I love the outfit, sporty but chic and elegant, in a way that only the 1950s could. She has a suitcase and each doll has a different luggage item, so all four make a complete luggage collection. Otherwise, her accessories are minimal, which didn’t use to be the case with this line. The good thing is that she comes with extra high heeled legs, in case she has to attend a cocktail party later on. I’d get her if I had a bigger budget - all three ladies ship mid February, so it is quite fast.

Evelyn is always impressive and this appearance is no exception, even if she’s in the sportiest we have ever seen her so far - in a very 1950s way of course. Her look is very elegant and well put together. The small case is much like the one Most Sophisticated Sabrina had, but in different colours.

For him, the Poconos are just the right mix of pure fun and sophistication rolled into one and let us tell you, this debonair man of the world is ready for it all!

Dashing Laird makes an appearance very quickly after his previous one, if you consider that it took years to make his second. Again a lottery doll (all the ladies are dealer dolls), with a limited edition of 600, it will be a bloodbath. I love his look and the colouring of it all - he looks smashing. He has a suitcase and a fedora hat, although I’d rather see him in a cap for a weekend in a resort. Come to think of it though, it is the first fedora that appears in the line, and it was about time for the guys, as it was the ubiquitous man’s hat back then. I entered the lottery, as he will be arriving mid to late March, which helps with better payment scheduling.

In case you did not notice, the collection is so coherent stylisticaly and visually, that the ladies can exchange pieces anytime - Chris Stoeckel took some photos to show it off. And you can also check a video of the dolls.

Fashion Royalty Moments mini collection - did we really need this?

We already knew since the beginning of this club year that a major part of the releases in 2023 would be “Moments”, i.e. repeated versions in alternate colours of previous dolls from Jessy Ayala. Fashion Royalty now has three new dolls for the Moments Collection, designed by him. They are all available through W Club-only "right-to-buy" lotteries and each has an edition of 1,200 dolls. I think the Moments idea was interesting but that it had to expand throughout the IT history and not only on Jessy’s dolls. There are so many incredible dolls that deserved a second appearance in a recoloured version and we are not getting that, having instead dolls that their original versions are only a few years old.

The choice of fabric and colours (both doll and ensemble) give the doll a very Stylish Escape vibe - a W Club doll from 2006 (800 edition). Nice but I already have the original Stylish Escape suit, so it is more than enough for my collection. Would love to have this bag though, it is gorgeous.

Another iteration of the Glam aesthetic, this Adele is a direct recolouring of Miami Glam Kesenia Valentinova from 2020 online convention, who was a re-imagining of Glow Vanessa Perrin from 2006m who was inspired by the Versace Barbie of 2004. The doll looks gorgeous and reminds me of two previous versions of her: Le Smoking from the Gloss convention (2014) and Petite Robe Classique from the 2020 online event. The dress was not a favourite in its first iteration on Kesenia, it remains so this time, with the added problem that it looks very transparent. I might have entered for this doll but January means two pre-orders arriving, so I will skip. Best doll of the three in my opinion. They gave a warning about her hair colour in the email:

We have seen Agnes sport chartreuse before: Truly, Madly, Deeply was the event doll at the 2012 collection presentation. She even had a hairstyle quite similar to this. Of course she is the recoloured version of Intimate Soirée from the 2020 online convention. She looks gorgeous and the colouring suits her a lot. But, as I already have Truly, Madly, Deeply as well as the 2014 event doll High Visibility, who has similar colouring (red hair and lips), I think I’m covered. Love the fox brooch. And I remembered that her dress reminds me of Cosmetic Takeover Natalia.

So, are you entering for any of these three ladies? You can also check the video showing them rotating - and wonder why did Adele get short-shifted and has what clearly is a bad, homemade video, instead of the glammed up one the other two dolls have.

Neutral Code: Poppy Parker goes mod once more!

We got a mini collection of Poppy Parker dolls this year - and, as we already knew, it is inspired by the Mod era. The concept is that Poppy travels from New York to London for the opening of avant-garde artist Riley Ridget's latest "Op Art" installation. Designed by David Buttry, it is the first ever Poppy Parker collection completely in black and white. Two dolls are lottery through the W Club and the others are sold through dealers.

I love this one - the smoky eye combined with pale lips is always a winner for me and the pied-de-poule (or hounds-tooth) pattern always a favourite.She fully embodies the concept. She will look great next to The Girl from I.N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y. Poppy from 2014, which would fit perfectly in this collection too. She has the Hold That Tiger screening. The closest I could get researching the inspiration is this 1966 Geoffrey Beene outfit.

Not feeling this one. And the main reason is that she reminds me a lot of the British Invasion Poppy from the Swinging London collection in 2017, which I already own. Then, it is the lip colour that does not seem to go with her hair colouring at all. She has darker hair than BI. Also their hats are identical - only BI’s is white.  So I skipped entering the lottery for this one. The inspiration is from a 2013 outfit from Fay Spring Summer collection, which of course was inspired by similar mod era dresses.

It looks like I’m finally getting a freckle faced doll after all - this Ginger looks like the epitome of mod era girl in the variety of outfits she comes in! Love her short hairstyle, overall Twiggy inspiration and Cardin inspired extreme coat, along with her Courrèges boots and striped hooded outfit (either Mary Quant or Rudi Gernreich inspired). She will compliment She’s Not There Poppy Parker so well.
