The Story:

Poppy Parker returns to the City of Light, but this time, it’s for the Noir Cosmetics ad campaign, to unveil a brand new companion makeup line for their iconic “When in Paris” fragrance!

Feeling light and carefree on the way to the photo shoot, Poppy grabbed her favourite dotted trench and wore it over a very chic, sleek black turtleneck and cropped trousers combo, which of course landed her on the pages of all the top French fashion magazines, making her fans scramble to copy the look!

Once she finally got to the studio, there was a lot of back and forth regarding the perfect gown she would wear in the ads, but everyone soon agreed that only Poppy’s friend Monsieur Mignon, her "go to" couturier, could pull this off! Monsieur was thrilled to recreate one of her most coveted dresses in black while adding some delicate embellishments, making the gown even more special for his favourite client! It was just what the Noir campaign needed, and the perfect look for Poppy to cast her charms on her French fans for the second time. When in Paris, indeed!

She’s a recoloured version of Friend or Foe Poppy Parker, from the gift set when Ginger made her first appearance, which was back in December 2019 - so it is another Moment for Poppy. I like the dress better in black, it makes it surely more Parisian and more sophisticated, but, as you see in the photo below and will not hear or read about it anywhere from Integrity Toys…

…the doll is a double throwback: she’s got the screening of the Audrey Hepburn Sabrina dolls, which I mostly have - and they look so much better than she does, mainly because of the hairstyle and the red lipstick. The photo above mimics an Audrey classic from Breakfast At Tiffany’s, which was remade by Steven Meisel with Christy Turlington. If I did not have any of those dolls, I’d grab this one right away. Not now though. The black beatnik outfit is a typical Audrey look from both Sabrina (IT released a version there in the Most Sophisticated gift set) and Funny Face (which looks more like this one). The make up and perfume accessories have been seen before many times.

See a video with the doll spinning around - are you getting her?

New Audrey Hepburn dolls by Mattel - Roman Holiday and Sabrina

These are the first Audrey dolls that Mattel releases after the sought after Breakfast At Tiffany's dolls. One is a Pink Label doll and one is a Silkstone Gold Label doll. Let's find out more about them.

Audrey Hepburn™ in Roman Holiday Doll

This is one I have been waiting for impatiently. They are using a new Audrey mold than the one they used for the Breakfast at Tiffany's dolls back in the 90s and she looks different than those dolls. She also now sports the ModelMuse™ body. My main interest though is the outfit as there was none whatsoever released so far from this film. It looks faithful to the original and the shoes at least have what looks like real strings on them. The price is right to and she's already on her way to me.

Let's see how Mattel describes the doll:

This lovely Audrey Hepburn™ in Roman Holiday portrait doll is exquisitely sculpted in the actress’ likeness. She is dressed in a re-creation of Princess Ann’s costume: a beige A-line skirt worn with a crisp white blouse and finished with a wide buckled belt. A pretty printed scarf and brown laced sandals are her stylish accessories.
Doll Details Body Type: ModelMuse™ Arms: Left Bent, Straight Right Skin Tone: Afra Facial Sculpt: New Audrey Hepburn Fashion Sewn On?: No Eyelashes: Painted Included with doll: Stand, belt buckle, shoes, blouse, belt, panty.

Doll cannot stand alone as shown.

The photos above are the official Mattel ones, but of course everyone wants to know how she will look in real life. I looked for photos and found some on-line from a seller on eBay:

She more or less looks like the promo but closer to the BAT Audrey face, which is good.

Audrey Hepburn™ as Sabrina Doll

This one is on a Silkstone body, which means the price is triple than the previous one. I already have the outfit in this scale from the Integrity Sabrina collection so I was not thinking of getting this, unless they produced a doll that was the spitting image of Audrey. The prototype is not a great likeness...

...but searching on-line I found some real life photos of the doll, from the same eBay seller. Not only she looks nothing like the promo, she is far from a perfect likeness of Audrey. For those who missed the Integrity Sabrina though, it's a good alternative, at least for the dress. The finish of the hem does not look promising on the promos and I cannot see it in the photo below. She's too expensive for what I see.

The Barbie Collector website has a neat feature for some of the dolls, where you can rotate the image 360°, which lets you see even the back of the doll:

Let's see how Mattel describes the doll:

This first-ever Silkstone® Audrey Hepburn™ as Sabrina portrait doll is beautifully sculpted in the actress’ likeness. She wears a re-creation of the famed black and-white embroidered long gown Sabrina wears upon her entrance into Long Island society. White opera gloves, faux pearl drop earrings and black stiletto pumps complete the elegant ensemble.

Doll Details Body Type: Silkstone® Skin Tone: Classic Beige Silkstone® Facial Sculpt: New Audrey Hepburn Fashion Sewn On?: No Eyelashes: Painted Included with doll: Stand, shoes ,earrings, dress, train, gloves, tights. There is a limit of 5 dolls per order.

Integrity Toys at IDEX part IV: Poppy Parker as Sabrina

"Isn't It Romantic?" - who has not watched Sabrina, with the incandescent Audrey Hepburn, and did not fall in love with the feisty, romantic heroine that transforms into a chic, independent woman. Not only did the film secure the rising star of Hepburn, it made an indelible mark in fashion and marked the beginning of one of fashion's most enduring relationships: the one between Givenchy and Audrey. It also gave us the definite little black dress, a staple of women's closets ever since, in a myriad of incarnations.

Although Edith Head won the Oscar for Best Costumes for the film, most of Hepburn's outfits (if not all) were created by Hubert de Givenchy and chosen personally by Audrey. Edith Head refused to share a credit with Givenchy, so only she was given credit for the costumes - Parisian designers were not powerful brand names back then and Givenchy was still fresh and young. I am certain though that the Academy's votes were for Hepburn's attire. The film began the life-long association between Givenchy and Hepburn that gave us so many wonderful outfits. There's also a rumour that Givenchy, when Audrey first booked an appointment at his atelier, thought he was seeing Katharine Hepburn, was disappointed to find out otherwise and told her he had very little time for her, so she picked the stuff out of his collection.

Integrity Toys, after their first foray into film territory last year with Breakfast at Tiffany's, now presents us with Poppy Parker™ as Sabrina®. Four dolls (two dressed dolls and two gift sets) are included in this collection and already it seems to be the hit of the year.

Miss Fairchild Poppy Parker™ as Sabrina® is the dressed doll with the famous Little Black Dress (and white petticoat underneath). She looks lovely in it and the make up is exactly like Audrey's. I love the red insteps of her kitten heel shoes and she even has a daiquiri just like in the film! Brocade clutch bag, gloves and beaded knit cap included. Can you spell perfection?

Isn't It Romantic Poppy Parker™ as Sabrina® is the second dressed doll of the series. She is wearing the big white ball gown from the film, with the black embroidery and huge train. I already have this one in the larger scale from Madame Alexander and have always wanted it for my smaller dolls. I wonder if the train will be detachable like in Madame Alexander's outfit. Gorgeous doll with perfect hair and make up.  Drop earrings, black kitten heels and white gloves complete the look.

The tour de force of the collection is the Most Sophisticated Poppy Parker™ as Sabrina® gift set. It includes three distinct looks from the film, plus a myriad of accessories. The main outfit is the elegant Parisian suit she arrives at the train station in. Of course she has a lovely black bag, a white pleated satin turban, a suitcase, a beauty case, black kitten heels, gloves, hoop earrings and her poodle dog (with a diamanté collar!). And if this was not already enough, two more looks as well. First she has the shirt and shorts look from the scene at the boat and then the beatnik outfit with a long coat, black scarf, black cigarette pants and black blouse. Two more pairs of shoes are included for these looks. One of the best gift sets to be released ever.

The Chauffeur's Daughter Poppy Parker™ as Sabrina® is the second gift set of the collection. In contrast to the previous one, this looks dull and plain. Here are the two outfits Sabrina is wearing before her transformation as well as a beige coat. Simple flat shoes (two pairs) and pearl stud earrings complete the set. The doll also has longer hair (in a pony tail) than the other three dolls of the collection. I am willing to bet this one is the least popular of all.

A stunning collection from Integrity - I love the fact that they use Poppy instead of that dreadful Holly sculpt from last year. With the right make up and hair style she even looks more like Audrey. The outfits are amazing, the accessories incredible. Simply irresistible.
